My name is Howard. I am writing you from a segregated cage on Texas' notorious Death row. I have been in prison since the age of eighteen. I'm 33 this past spring; and after two trials, seven appeals, and a litany of inadequate overworked attorneys somehow I've managed to hold on to my sanity and moreover I am still fighting to preserve my innocence. Should I tell you some about me? Ok well, I'm an African-American and I was originally born and raised in the rural town of Abbeyville, Louisiana. I am a very positive person with a good heart and a tender spot for kids. In my spare time I love to draw and play chess. I try to workout and practice Yoga every day. I find those things very therapeutic in dealing with the monotony of prison life. Mostly, however, I am constantly fighting to save my life. Everything I do revolves around regaining my freedom and returning home to my family. I am married to a wonderful woman. She is truly my better half. So by no means am I looking for a romance with someone. I am a very honest person and I would like to contribute to the betterment of someone's life as much as they can contribute to mine
